On TikTok, a South African user named Nombulelo highlighted some observations that raised suspicions about Kanye West’s concert. Others echoed her concerns as they searched for more reliable information.
Nombulelo explored Ticketpro for tickets and found the site appeared credible until she observed an excessive use of emojis and that the concert was listed as all ages:
“It looks like a copy and paste from a WhatsApp group.”
The website lacks a map for the stadium and does not clarify what attendees will receive for their ticket price. Furthermore, Ticketpro does not specify the rules regarding items permitted in the venue.
Details on the upcoming Kanye West Concert
The concert is scheduled for December 13 at Ellis Park Stadium in Johannesburg. The event begins at 5 pm, with ticket prices starting at R850.
Kanye West announced the concert on Twitter, in addition to another performance planned in Brazil on November 29. The event is being organized by Monyake Group in partnership with Ellis Park.
Currently, tickets are unavailable for purchase on Ticketpro, with the site stating that ‘sale starts soon’ but no prices listed. The relative obscurity of the Monyake Group and its limited online presence have caused further skepticism among fans.
Many South Africans are advocating for clearer communication through legitimate press releases to confirm the event. Fans are also looking forward to Travis Scott’s upcoming performance scheduled in just a few days.
Scott will take the stage on October 11 at the FNB Stadium in Johannesburg. Tickets for this concert remain available, providing fans the opportunity to see him live.
