Cindy Makhathini, known for her influence on social media, has shared the circumstances surrounding her recent vehicle collision.
She became a trending topic on social media after revealing on her Instagram account on Sunday, 28 September 2025, that she had been in a car accident. This announcement came following previous controversies related to her disputes with author Jackie Phamotse, clarifying any speculation regarding the accident.
Understanding the circumstances of the car accident
Notable gossip blogger Musa Khawula, who is currently incarcerated, reposted a video in which Makhathini explains the details of the accident. The accompanying post read:

In her video, Makhathini referred to the crash as an unexpected event. She recounted that when they arrived at the Sasol fuel station, her friend, Ayanda, requested her assistance in zipping up her dress.
“After we drove into the garage, she’s like, Chommie, can you please zip me up, and I’m like, sharp Chommie, let’s just park, and then I’ll zip you up,” she stated.
Makhathini noted that while she had her foot on the brake, she failed to shift her vehicle, an Omoda, into park. Instead, while trying to assist her friend, her foot accidentally slipped to the accelerator, resulting in the car moving forward and colliding with another object.
“I did not put my car in park. I had my foot on the brake, I had it there, and I was so sure. Usually, I know myself, like when I park before I put the P, I put my full brake, and then I press the P. I swear to God, I don’t know what happened. So, I’m trying to zip her up. I don’t know how my foot moved from the brake to the accelerator,” Makhathini explained.
