Handre and Marise Pollard are preparing to leave their home in Market Harborough, UK, as they head back to South Africa for Handre’s return to play with the Bulls on July 1st. After five years abroad, they share bittersweet feelings about moving back, especially with Marise expecting their second child.

Pollards Prepare for Emotional Goodbye

Marise Pollard shared her feelings about leaving the UK in an emotional Instagram post. She expressed her sadness, stating, “Our last week here, and my heart is heavy.”

The Pollards have spent three years in Market Harborough, during which Handre played for the Leicester Tigers. His return to the Bulls highlights a new chapter in their lives.

Despite the sadness, Marise is reportedly looking forward to returning to South Africa, especially with their second child on the way, due at the end of October.

Cherishing Memories of Life Abroad

Marise has often reflected on their life in the UK, explaining how they incorporated elements of South African culture into their home. This includes a safari-themed nursery for baby Hunter.

Their residence features a memory wall showcasing coordinates from significant places in their relationship, illustrating how deeply rooted their experiences are in both South Africa and the UK.

Marise added, “South Africa will always be our home, but I’m so grateful to also call the UK my home.” This sentiment highlights their multifaceted relationship with both countries.

As Handre and Marise Pollard prepare to leave the UK for South Africa, their hearts are heavy with emotion. After three years, including the birth of their first child, they reflect fondly on their life abroad while looking forward to new beginnings with a growing family in their homeland.
