
The artist known for the song Biri Marung, Tebogo Mashego, has decided to disconnect from social media amid heightened scrutiny regarding his recent online activity and a video in which he issued an apology.
Recently, the musician attracted media attention after revealing he experienced difficulties while in Nigeria. He triggered considerable discussion when he published an emotional apology directed towards DJ Maphorisa and DJ Karri.
The video of his apology soon gained traction, eliciting a variety of responses from both fans and fellow musicians.
The Mashego family expressed appreciation for the community support their son has been experiencing, stating:
“We would like to begin by extending our heartfelt gratitude to the people of South Africa, and in particular, to Tebogo’s dedicated fans.”
They also clarified that he will abstain from “any performances, public appearances, or professional engagements until further notice,” and will be “taking a temporary break from all social media platforms.”
The family concluded their statement by urging the public to keep Mashego in their thoughts and prayers during this period.
