Musa Khawula Uncovers Fraud Allegations Linked to Kanye West's South Africa Concert

Musa Khawula claims Kanye West’s SA show organizer Samuel Monyake is a fraud

A significant issue has arisen regarding the long-awaited Kanye West concert in South Africa, as new allegations surface that the event organizer, Samuel Monyake from Monyake Group, is purportedly engaged in fraudulent activities.

Entertainment commentator Musa Khawula took to X (formerly Twitter) to announce that Monyake’s company, responsible for bringing the American artist to South Africa, is currently facing deregistration with the Companies and Intellectual Property Commission (CIPC).

Reports indicate that Monyake Group has yet to fulfill financial obligations to Kanye West’s management, even after an agreement was made to secure the artist for a performance scheduled for December 2025.

It is claimed that Kanye West initially requested $8 million for the appearance, but after discussions, this was negotiated down to $5 million.

The associated contract mandated an upfront payment of $1.25 million to be settled by September 20, 2025 prior to any public announcement.

In an act of goodwill, Kanye West’s manager is reported to have announced the concert while awaiting the initial payment, which did not materialize.

Monyake Group allegedly failed to proceed with any payments and later sought an extension of five days at the beginning of October, yet did not meet this deadline either.

Additionally, reports suggest that the event lacked sponsorship, meaning all payments were expected to be covered by Monyake Group.

Sources further disclosed that Samuel Monyake planned to use ticket sale profits to pay Kanye West, a strategy that appears to have been unsuccessful. TicketPro has indicated that only 6,000 tickets have been sold to date, while sales remain open, and Monyake continues to assert that the concert will proceed on December 13, 2025.

Kanye West’s management has reportedly been approached for a comment, while potential sponsors are urging them to dissociate from Monyake and his organization in light of the ongoing scandal.
