Sunset Soundtrack: 2025's Hottest South African Beats!

TikTok has unveiled its Songs of the Summer 2025 list, spotlighting tracks that have recently taken over social media and driven trends. This compilation underscores TikTok’s vital contribution to music exploration and elevating local artists to global recognition. From the hit‘Ngishutheni’to popular Amapiano collaborations like‘Abantwana Bakho’, these tracks have become the definitive sound of the summer, bridging the gap between your online feeds and favorite social spots.

Noteworthy Highlights from TikTok

  • Leading the list is‘Ngishutheni’from Goon Flavour, Master KG, and Eemoh, a monumental success that has energized dance venues this season.
  • In second place, Khadeair’s‘Magumba’remains a viral sensation, while‘Isaka (6am)’by CIZA, Jazzworx, and Thukuthela takes third place, featuring an unmistakable Amapiano vibe that has captured attention.
  • The leading tracks also highlight the power of collaboration, with artists such as MaWhoo, GL_Ceejay, and Thukuthela featured in several songs, including‘Bengicela (feat. Jazzworx)’and‘Uzizwa Kanjan’. Notable mentions in the top 10 include Chella’s emotional‘My Darling’at fifth, along with Nhloso Khwela’s‘Unikhodima’featuring Shena Wasehlalankosi, and UNjoko & Limit Nala’s‘Uyisela’making it into the top tier.
  • Completing the chart is a prominent collaboration underscoring Amapiano’s worldwide influence: DJ Maphorisa, Xduppy, Kabza De Small, Thatohtsi, Young Stunna, and Nkosazana Daughter with‘Abantwana Bakho’.

“TikTok is where music truly comes to life. It’s a space where songs are discovered, collective enjoyment is cemented, artists grow and opportunities open up in ways that weren’t possible before. What makes it special is the community, where fans, creators and musicians all come together to shape culture, and in this case, seasons, in real time. The Songs of the Summer show how powerful that connection is, and how TikTok continues to be the platform where South African music can break boundaries and reach the world”, says Toyin Mustapha, TikTok’s Head of music partnerships, UK, Ireland & SSA.
