- Public reaction intensified after claims regarding the salaries of rapper Shebeshxt’s employees surfaced online
- The artist is currently incarcerated due to a shooting incident, igniting discussion about his possible release
- After the salary details became public, many social media users expressed their anger, criticizing the rapper’s employment practices
The Lekompo artist, already at the center of controversy due to his arrest, is now facing heightened public criticism as information about his staff’s alleged salaries has come to light.
Currently behind bars for a shooting incident involving a motorist in October 2025, the rapper has recently requested bail, asserting that he has dependents relying on his support.
On Thursday, 27 November, a Twitter (X) user named Am_Blujay posted a summary of Shebeshxt’s claimed financial responsibilities as outlined in his affidavit.
According to the report, the rapper allocates R25,000 monthly to each of his parents, while the mother of his eight-year-old child receives R5,000 for child maintenance. Following the announcement of his girlfriend Kholofelo’s pregnancy, he noted that she also depends on him financially.
Another user, Valentine_MGMT, shared an apparent section of the affidavit illustrating the rapper’s business dealings as a performer and the people he employs.
His team reportedly includes two dancers, a driver, a manager, and a bookings manager, with their monthly pay outlined as follows:
- Dancers – R4,500
- Manager – R2,000
- Route manager/driver – R3,000
- Bookings manager – R3,500
Uncertainty surrounds whether the R4,500 for the dancers is a collective sum or individual payment per dancer, yet public backlash has emerged due to the low salaries in light of the rapper’s estimated monthly income of R180,000.
In his affidavit, Shebeshxt reportedly mentioned that his earnings of R180,000 vary with his bookings.
Briefly News reported on November 12 that Shebeshxt had been fully booked for the festive season, with performances lined up across the nation, though these plans have since been interrupted by his arrest.
After his unsuccessful bid for bail, the rapper expressed a desire to meet his obligations to event organizers and to continue supporting his team and family. However, his narrative has not garnered significant public sympathy.

“This is crazy!”
Valentine_MGMT added:

“A man with huge responsibilities but behaving irresponsibly.”
