Maggz Stands Firm Amid Criticism of His Place in 'Four Horsemen'

Maggz Addresses Concerns Regarding His Participation on “Four Horsemen”. The artist has reacted to discussions among fans about his role in Stogie T’s latest single “Four Horsemen,” which features fellow rappers Nasty C and A-Reece. This track is significant in the South African hip hop scene, marking the anticipated collaboration between Nasty C and A-Reece on a single piece.

Despite the excitement, some critics felt that Maggz should not have been included, arguing that the song would have been better served by featuring only Stogie T with the younger artists. In his response, Maggz emphasized that the aim of the song did not focus on excluding any artists. “I understand the sentiment that people wanna hear A-Reece and Nasty C alone doing their thing with no distraction or whatever. But that was not the intention of the song,” he stated.

He elaborated that the track was created out of respect for Stogie T, the leading figure who crafted the song. “Obviously, they are both adults (Nasty C and A-Reece). They could do that on their own if they felt it was for them. But this was more for Stogie. Stogie is an OG to all of us, not only just them but also to me. This is one of the pioneers in the game, someone I hold up high. So when he calls, you have got to heed the call.”

Maggz also praised the powerful reception of the single since its release, sharing that it set new records shortly after launch. He highlighted its remarkable streaming success, noting, “I’m so glad that it took such a shape and it became such a monster. Like today, my homie was telling me the numbers, like the most-streamed song in South African hip hop history ever. Number 2 most-streamed song on Spotify in South Africa in a day. That includes your Drake and your Piano. So that’s how much impact this song made.”
