Singer Babalwa M did not perform at the Itsoseng Delicious Event due to a dispute regarding the performance requirements, leading to disappointment among attendees and an apology from the organizers.
The situation developed following the artist’s request for additional items that were not included in the original agreement.
Event management stated that Babalwa M requested two bottles of Veuve just before she was set to perform.
The organizers indicated that such a request was not part of the initial agreement.
They clarified that all pre-arranged hospitality was provided, including Hennessy VS and Hennessy VSOP, as detailed in the performance rider.
Despite this, the singer reportedly declined to perform once her additional request could not be fulfilled.
Consequently, the organizers announced the cancellation of her set and issued an apology to the audience and supporters who had anticipated her performance.
The incident quickly circulated on social media, eliciting varied responses from users on X.
Some directed criticism at the singer’s actions, with one commenting, “Is this a joke?😭😭 forfeiting a performance because of alcohol 🍻🍺 yho we are in the gutter as a nation.”
