The Afro-pop duo Blaq Diamond has apologized for not being able to perform at the Gagasi FM Summer Sessions held in Newcastle this past weekend.
The artists were scheduled to take the stage at Khazins Shisanyama on December 28, but unexpected travel complications led to their last-minute withdrawal.
Their management team, Umuthi Group, released a statement explaining that the duo’s vehicle experienced mechanical difficulties while traveling from Johannesburg, which caused considerable delays.
“On our way from Johannesburg, we experienced vehicle problems en route to Newcastle. Despite exploring all available options and remaining in constant communication with the Gagasi FM team, we were unfortunately unable to make it,” the statement read.
They expressed their regret to the fans who had gathered to see them, acknowledging the disappointment that arose from their absence.
“We sincerely apologise to all patrons who came hoping to see Blaq Diamond perform. Together with Gagasi FM and all stakeholders, we tried to salvage the situation, but it was not successful,” they added.
Blaq Diamond also mentioned that plans for a complimentary make-up show are in the works and will be revealed in the near future.
They extended their thanks to the event organizers and Gagasi FM for their understanding and support during the situation.
“We would like to thank the organizers for doing their best to explore other avenues and for being patient with us,” the statement read.
Assuring their supporters of their commitment, the duo promised to return to Newcastle soon to perform for their fans, emphasizing their dedication to providing unforgettable live experiences.
