- Mzansi’s well-known channel Moja Love has recently responded to allegations from former presenters and associates.
- In a statement released earlier this week, the channel refuted the claims made against them.
- Moja Love also addressed the false suicide allegation made by the family of Mahlalentabeni on social media.
According to Sunday World Newspaper, the channel decided to break its silence due to the persistent allegations, having initially opted for a quiet response to the surrounding controversy.
Moloi has been vocal on his Facebook about events he claims occurred off-camera and alleged ties to a suicide involving an individual connected with the channel. He also discussed the Mahlalentabeni death hoax.
Moja Love responds to the accusations
On December 30, 2025, the channel issued a formal statement addressing the claims against them. Moja Love spokesperson Nonzwakazi Cekete mentioned that the channel could no longer tolerate the misinformation being circulated by Moloi and others on social media.
The statement reads:
“The channel has exercised restraint and chosen not to engage publicly, despite persistent provocation. However, the continued spread of misinformation, threats against staff, and reckless allegations leave the channel with no option but to respond.”
According to Cekete, it is irresponsible for individuals dealing with personal challenges to involve the channel in their circumstances.
Moja Love comments on Mahlalentabeni’s suicide claim
In December 2025, the family of Umdeni star Mahlalentabeni announced on social media that she had taken her own life, attributing it to Moja Love’s alleged financial obligations from the show. They later corrected this statement, confirming she was alive and in the ICU.
Cekete explained that the channel is not connected to the claims surrounding a suicide note attributed to Mahlalentabeni and distanced itself from her personal issues referenced therein.
“The false suicide claim by Mahlalentabeni is deeply concerning. And it raises concerns about her mental well-being and credibility. The conduct of former employee Zinja, who was fired for corruption and taking money from vulnerable people that the channel was assisting, is alarming. Furthermore, he took advantage of Mahlalentabeni, someone with serious mental challenges,” she said.
