The group phase of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations has officially concluded. All six groups have been finalized and the 16 teams for the Round of 16 are now confirmed. Nigeria and Algeria distinguished themselves by securing a flawless nine points from their three matches.
Group A:
Softfootball reports that host nation Morocco led Group A, finishing with 7 points and a goal difference of +5. Mali qualified as well, despite ending up with just 3 points. Comoros and Zambia were eliminated after drawing their last matches, each accumulating two points.

Group B:
Egypt topped Group B with 7 points, having recorded two wins and a draw. South Africa finished closely behind with 6 points to secure their spot in the next round. Angola and Zimbabwe did not qualify.

Group C:
Nigeria was dominant in this round, winning all three of their matches against Tanzania (2–1), Tunisia (3–2), and Uganda (3–1), finishing with 9 points. Tunisia also progressed with 4 points, while both Tanzania and Uganda were eliminated.

In Group D, Senegal and DR Congo both finished with 7 points, differentiated only by goal difference. Benin claimed third place with a single victory over Botswana, who ended at the bottom after suffering defeats in each match.

Algeria completed a perfect group stage, winning all three matches to finish with 9 points. Burkina Faso also advanced, while Sudan and Equatorial Guinea did not make the cut.

Group F:
The reigning champions, Côte d’Ivoire, topped the group with 7 points, level with Cameroon. Mozambique progressed as one of the best third-placed teams, while Zambia was unable to advance.
