Nota claims credit for iShow Speed trending in South Africa for 3 days
Nota Baloyi, a prominent figure in the South African music industry, has drawn attention online after asserting that he is the reason American streamer iShowSpeed gained popularity during his recent time in South Africa.
iShowSpeed, famous for his dynamic and unpredictable live broadcasts, dedicated three days to South Africa, where he interacted with various local celebrities such as Nota, DJ Sbu, Bontle Modiselle, and Robot Boii.
Footage from the visit gained traction, with many viewers humorously commenting on the enthusiasm displayed by the celebrities, especially during instances where Nota found himself amusingly set aside and even pushed away by the bodyguards of the streamer.
In a recent podcast, Nota asserted that the excitement surrounding iShowSpeed directly stemmed from his own influence.
“The whole country is going crazy over Speed. I trended before him, so I made him trend. He trended because of me, I am the reason he trended,” he remarked, with laughter in the background.
The music executive further claimed his ability to organize a private jet for iShowSpeed.
“I can get him a private jet that flies him everywhere, with black pilots,” Nota stated.
He also expressed that Speed’s appearance may have eclipsed local streamers who typically broadcast from their homes.
While many found Nota’s remarks entertaining, some criticized him for making the achievements of the streamer seem self-serving.
