Moghelingz praises SARS
Banele “Moghelingz” Ndaba, a content creator, ignited a discussion on social media following his appearance on SABC. During the program, he expressed his support for the South African Revenue Service (SARS) and its new focus on social media influencers.
In the course of the discussion, Banele argued that this initiative might promote professional standards among content creators while encouraging compliance with tax regulations.
The segment, broadcast on national television, drew attention online after a clip was shared on X (formerly Twitter).
However, the response from viewers was predominantly negative.
Many social media users alleged that Banele’s remarks came off as rehearsed or financially motivated.
One comment noted, “lol he’s making it obvious that this is sponsored, how many hours did he practice?”
Another viewer stated, “You can spot a paid promo from a mile away.”
Some questioned his grasp of business and taxation.
“So weird and scripted coz Banele doesn’t speak like this nor understand business this way,” remarked one user on X.
Criticism also extended to SARS, with some claiming, “SARS is now paying influencers to get their point across.”
