Hairstylist Snenhlanhla Mthembu alleges months of abuse and pleads for help on social media
South African hairstylist and entrepreneur Snenhlanhla Mthembu has turned to social media, asserting that she has endured months of physical abuse from her boyfriend, Andile Junior (24).
The entrepreneur from Durban has posted a series of heartfelt Instagram stories where she detailed her experiences and shared visuals of the injuries she claims to have sustained during the alleged abuse.
In one of her updates, she referred to her public plea as a last effort to find assistance after failing to get help through official avenues.
“This is my final attempt for a call for help and try and arrest this monster who has been abusing me physically from the day we started dating,” she wrote.
Snenhlanhla further stated that she has filed several cases at the police station but claims there has been no follow-up. She expressed feelings of vulnerability and invisibility as a result of her situation.
“I’ve opened four cases with fail because no police gets near him and of course his father will bribe his way out, but today I’ve had enough,” she said, adding, “Nizokholwa when he kills me? How do we explain four case numbers?”
The hairstylist also addressed rumors regarding her public statements, emphasizing that her intent is not to seek attention but to find safety.
She disclosed that she often conceals the reality from her clients, providing fabricated stories when her injuries prompt inquiries.
Reports indicate that the 31-year-old is receiving medical assistance after an incident involving the alleged arson of Andile’s vehicle.
Once she is discharged from the hospital, Snenhlanhla is anticipated to face charges of assault and malicious damage to property.
