A student from St John’s College is rejoicing in a significant academic achievement after gaining admission to Harvard University due to an exceptional performance in his matric exams.
Siza Gule, who is set to graduate in 2025 from the Johannesburg school, secured nine distinctions, boasting a remarkable average of 94%. This accomplishment has granted him access to one of the globe’s top educational institutions.
The accomplished student recently discussed his future plans in an interview featured on TikTok by the account @whatsgoingonsa, where he appeared in a dialogue with Kaya 959 on January 12, 2026.
In the segment, Siza mentioned that he will commence his studies at Harvard in August 2026, emphasizing that the university’s adaptable and interdisciplinary academic framework greatly influenced his application decision.
“I’m not entirely sure of one key thing that I’m interested in at the moment,” he confessed, noting the lure of the chance to delve into various fields.
Siza expressed his intention to concentrate on politics, with a keen desire to understand governance and the organization of societies.
In addition, he aims to investigate literature and theatre, which reflect his artistic inclinations.
“I’m very much a creative person, and I’ve enjoyed my time at St John’s being on stage. So those two feel like my biggest interests that I’m looking to explore that side,” he stated.
His acceptance into Harvard has sparked a wave of congratulatory messages online, with social media users commending his dedication and wishing him success as he gets ready for his academic journey abroad.
