South African DJ duo TxC, comprised of Tarryn Reid and Clairise Hefke, received a hero’s welcome at OR Tambo International Airport on June 12, 2025, after winning Best New International Act at the BET Awards in Los Angeles on June 9. This historic win celebrates and elevates the South African amapiano music scene, inspiring youth and creatives across Africa.

TxC, composed of Tarryn Reid and Clairise Hefke, gained significant recognition by winning Best New International Act at the BET Awards on June 9, 2025.

The victory is viewed as a landmark achievement for the amapiano genre, showcasing South Africa’s thriving music scene on an international platform.

In their acceptance speech, TxC stated, “It’s an honor being here as a South African… we hope it’s going to happen a lot more for amapiano and African dance music.”
