Last week, rising rapper Babytron surprised fans with his latest track “Lord of the Multiverse” on his birthday. The 11-minute song features beats from each year of hip-hop history since 1980, showcasing his lyrical evolution and celebrating the genre’s milestones. Paired with a visually striking video costing between $40,000 and $50,000, it reflects Babytron’s dedication to both music and hip-hop culture.

Innovative Tribute to Hip-Hop History

In his new track, “Lord of the Multiverse,” Babytron reportedly rapped over 45 distinct beats spanning the history of hip-hop, showcasing various iconic styles since 1980.

The ambitious project serves as a unique homage to hip-hop’s evolution, reflecting influences from numerous artists, including Drake and Kendrick Lamar, whom Babytron believes deserved representation.

As Babytron put it, “That’s my representation of the history of hip hop and just showing I can rap with all the beats as well.”

Babytron’s accompanying video for “Lord of the Multiverse” cost around $50,000 and was created in collaboration with multiple videographers over approximately one month.

Initially, he envisioned filming in the original locations of classic videos, but time constraints forced him to rely on advanced green screen techniques to achieve the desired aesthetic.

Reflecting on the production process, he remarked, “All this money I’m spending…is coming out of my pocket. I’m doing it for the love of music, bro.”
