Grammy award-winning Nigerian artist Tems will be visiting South Africa in March.
She is set to launch the South African edition of her initiative, the Leading Vibe Initiative, on March 21, 2026.
This program, which began last year, aims to provide support and opportunities for aspiring women in music, focusing on those involved as artists, songwriters, and producers.
Following successful events in Lagos and Nairobi, Tems is now advancing her efforts in Southern Africa, striving to empower women who are frequently overlooked in the music sector.
The initiative specifically invites creatives aged 18 to 35 to participate in tailored sessions that explore both the artistic and commercial aspects of music.
Participants can look forward to mentorship, networking opportunities, masterclasses, and practical studio experiences facilitated by Native Instruments.
The aim is to enhance both creative abilities, including songwriting and production, and to provide insights into the music industry.
Applications for the South African edition are open and will be accepted until February 28.
By focusing her efforts on education and empowerment rather than solely on her performance, Tems is demonstrating her dedication to creating lasting opportunities for the upcoming generation of female music professionals in Africa.
