South African musician Naledi Aphiwe is gearing up for her forthcoming show in Zimbabwe while addressing past disputes related to her name.
The artist, who gained recognition for her popular track Ngyabonga, will perform at the much-anticipated Ama2kFest in Harare on April 4, 2026, sharing the stage with Nigerian star Ruger and South African talent Scotts Maphuma.
Initial enthusiasm for her performance was affected when social media users brought attention to a previous instance where she allegedly reacted negatively to a fan from Zimbabwe.
The resulting criticism led Naledi to issue a public apology. As the event approaches, she has reached out to her Zimbabwean audience with a new appeal.
In a TikTok video promoting her appearance, the singer conveyed her message with clarity and warmth.
“Hey guys, I have exciting news… I am coming to Zimbabwe. Please be kind, it’s my first time in Zimbabwe. Please be gentle. I love you guys so much.”
This heartfelt request seems to have resonated well with many, prompting a significant number of fans to move beyond the earlier controversy in support of her upcoming performance.
