The actor, known for his role in Smoke and Mirrors, currently plays Sakhile in the recently canceled eTV telenovela.
In an interview with Sowetan on March 18, 2026, he described Azande’s character as somewhat rebellious, indicating that he ultimately transforms into a villain throughout the season.
Sepotekele noted that Azande was raised to inherit the family business, having attended prestigious schools and studied abroad to acquire business knowledge.
The actor, who has often played heroic roles, detailed his preparations for depicting a villain on the show.
“I ‘people-watch’, not in a weird way. How I build my characters is basically from people that I’ve experienced in life,” says the star.
He further mentioned that he actively sought to embody a character like Azande after spending a considerable time portraying likable figures, viewing this role as a personal challenge.
