Reality television star Mpumelelo Mseleku has sparked significant discussion after revealing that he no longer envisions a future with his partner, Tirelo Kale. This comes despite the couple having a child together.
In a recent episode of Izingane Zez’Thembu, Mpumelelo shared his thoughts during a discussion with his father, Musa Mseleku, regarding his romantic relationship.
“I don’t see us getting married,” he stated plainly.
He elaborated, mentioning that he identified boundary issues within his family structure as a critical factor.
Mpumelelo indicated that Tirelo had made herself too familiar with his relatives, a behavior he perceives as crossing a threshold. He recounted an instance that troubled him, saying, “She once came home intoxicated. They went out together (gestures at siblings), and she told me that she took a sip from Sne’s glass. I confronted Sne and said I would tell Dad, and that’s when the truth came out that she did drink.”
For him, this situation transcends a singular occurrence.
He emphasized that Tirelo must recognize her role within the household, stating that her growing closeness to his siblings has caused concern.
“She’s only here to build the home. It’s a problem now that she’s started galavanting with my siblings,” he commented.
These remarks have drawn attention, especially since he had previously proposed to her.
However, he now suggests that her actions have altered his viewpoint, particularly because he prioritizes tradition and family values.
The scenario is also complicated by opposition from Tirelo’s family, who have allegedly resisted the idea of marriage, suggesting that she focus on her education and career first.
In the meantime, Mpumelelo has made advances in his personal life, having paid lobola for another partner, Ayanda Biyela, with whom he welcomed a child in early 2026.
After the episode aired, social media was buzzing with varied reactions.
Some users criticized Mpumelelo for his comments regarding Tirelo, while others expressed relief that she had moved on, suggesting that ending the relationship might have been for the best.
