South African celebrity blogger Musa Khawula moved quickly to dispel a false report of his demise.
Khawula has been a prominent figure, especially in relation to the Madlanga Commission of Enquiry, and found himself trending when a video by Slik Talk gained significant attention.
Musa refutes death allegations
In a video shared by @Thisiscolbert, Slik Talk alleged he received credible information suggesting Musa Khawula had died following an incident with another prisoner.
“RIP Musa Khawula, I got this news from a really reliable source, a really credible source… Musa Khawul is no more. Apparently, there was an altercation in prison and then somebody decided to take my man out. RIP Musa Khawula, if the news is true. What a legend! What a career,” Slik Talk said.
He expressed admiration for Musa, highlighting the respect he owes him for early support in his own career.
However, just hours later, Musa Khawula used X to clear up the rumors with his characteristic humor. In a voice note, Musa laughed and said, “Why are you guys like this? Why are you killing me? This is not the first time this has happened. But I just came to say, ‘nope’, I’m not dead, I am here. Enjoying and drinking cheap alcohol. At 6 in the morning,” he chuckled. He then added, “Since I’m dead, send donations for the funeral.”
