Dumisani Dlamini claims he was barred from Doja Cat’s South Africa concert
Dumisani Dlamini asserts he was removed from his daughter Doja Cat’s recent concert in Pretoria, even though he purchased his own ticket to the event.
The actor posted a video outside the venue, detailing his experience of being stopped and asked to leave by the management.
Dlamini explained that the incident was unexpected as he had already arranged to see the performance.
“I’ve been told by management that I mustn’t come and see the show. And now I am going with security. They are kicking me out of the place. They are saying that I am not allowed to come and see my daughter,” he stated during the recording.
The concert, which was Doja Cat’s first major appearance in South Africa, was held at the SunBet Arena as part of the Global Citizen Move Afrika tour.
This event had garnered attention due to the existing tensions between the artist and her father.
Dlamini denied previous claims of having been invited to the show, asserting that he bought his tickets independently.
“I’ve paid the money for the tickets. No one offered me. I bought the tickets myself,” he remarked, noting that organizers later proposed a refund.
His account contradicts the statements made earlier by Doja Cat, who implied that her father opted not to attend.
In a TikTok video posted shortly before the concert, she mentioned that she tried to connect with him during her visit, but he declined her invitation.
“He said that he couldn’t make it to my show because I don’t message him enough and call him on WhatsApp,” she explained.
The situation has disappointed fans, who had hoped the ongoing estrangement between the father and daughter might be resolved during her visit
