Fans of Uthando Nes’thembu have voiced their dissatisfaction regarding the way Human Behaviour Counselor Bab’ Ndabe Myeza handled his responsibilities in an episode that was broadcast on Wednesday, March 25.
“What body regulates his profession?” and “Bab’ Ndabe doesn’t hold Musa accountable for anything,” are just a few of the remarks shared about him on X.
Some watchers felt that Musa Mseleku should have picked a therapist who had no prior connections to their family, as Bab’ Ndabe has previously interacted with them, leading to perceptions of bias in his methodology.
VIEWERS UNIMPRESSED WITH BAB’ NDABE FROM THE JUMP
The initial introduction of Bab’ Ndabe this season on Uthando Nes’thembu occurred in episode 12, where he was featured alongside another therapist, Nontobeko Mjadu.
Musa enlisted these two professionals inan effort to address their family issues, as he believes that the tensions have intensified significantly.
Right from the start, Bab’ Ndabe seemed to rub viewers the wrong way since they felt he lacked neutrality. Many sensed that Musa might have prepped him on how to steer the therapy discussions.
For instance, viewers criticized Bab’ Ndabe for displaying apparent bias against Musa’s third wife, Thobile MaKhumalo, when he inquired about the wives’ contributions to the family.
He highlighted that financial input was irrelevant, while his gestures seemed to direct attention toward MaKhumalo, who is known to assist Musa occasionally.
This led to the belief among viewers that Bab’ Ndabe was aiming to humble MaKhumalo, especially after she recently claimed that she intends to remain with her husband.
Given that Musa has essentially designated MaKhumalo as the antagonist of this season, is Bab’ Ndabe merely adhering to a “script” that minimizes her contributions to the family?
WAS BAB’ NDABE’S ANALYSIS OF THE FAMILY, ACCURATE?
In the recent episode, many witnessed yet another awkward moment involving Bab’ Ndabe. As the therapy sessions approached their conclusion, he presented his evaluation of the wives, which was met with skepticism from viewers who felt his assessment lacked precision.
A further concern raised by the audience was the fact that Bab’ Ndabe scarcely held Musa responsible for his role in the family’s disarray.
While Bab’ Ndabe did indeed encourage Musa to master the art of “unequivocally apologizing” to his wives, a lot of viewers still felt this advice fell short, as the family’s issues seemed to require a more comprehensive approach.
