In the recent Netflix docuseries Untold: The Death & Life of Lamar Odom, Lamar Odom, a two-time NBA champion, revealed that his attraction to Khloé Kardashian stemmed from the allure of the lifestyle linked to the Kardashian clan.
The couple tied the knot in 2009, merely a month after their romance began. They first crossed paths at a gathering hosted by former NBA player Ron Artest.
Lamar’s documentary is part of the Netflix Untold documentary series, which showcases various sports figures in each episode.

This insightful documentary focuses on the former basketball player’s rise to fame, as well as his personal and professional challenges.
The film delves into elements that led to his decline, including issues with substance abuse and multiple infidelities throughout his marriage to Khloé.
In discussing his marriage with Khloé, Lamar admitted that it was her celebrity lifestyle that initially drew him in, in addition to his genuine feelings for her.
“I’m already Lamar Odom, and I’m just watching how she live [lives] and their lifestyle, I’m like, I know this is where I wanna [want to] be. Like, this is how I wanna [want to] live.“

Embracing his newfound fame, the basketball legend created Khloé & Lamar, a reality TV series centered around their lives together.
Khloé also contributed to the documentary, mentioning that their reality show was “led by Lamar”, highlighting that she participated to bring him joy.
“Khloé & Lamar was very much led by Lamar, I was spread really thin. I also didn’t really want it to jeopardize the family brand. I thought there was [were] so many Kardashian shows,” Khloé remarked.
“But I also wanted to do what made him happy, and he was so excited about it,” she further explained.
Lamar’s daughter, Destiny Odom, shared her perspective on her father’s marriage to Khloé and his aspirations regarding reality television.
“He did love Khloé, but he’d wanted to be on reality TV for a long time,” Destiny revealed.
LAMAR ODOM: ALWAYS OPEN ABOUT HIS LIFE
This isn’t the first time Lamar has opened up about his experiences.
In 2019, he released his memoir From Darkness to Light, and in 2022, he appeared in a TMZ special, Lamar Odom: Sex, Drugs & Kardashians.
Reflecting on his infidelity during his marriage to Khloé and whether she was aware of his struggles with substance abuse, Lamar shared:
“For part of our marriage, I had to tell her. You can’t hide that. She was hurt. But Khloé was a good wife,” Lamar explained.
“She wasn’t dismissive, or like, ‘Get away from me’ or ugly and nasty. She wanted to protect me. Behind the scenes, I put her through sh-t, he added.
“I had these random women coming out. I was having full-blown relationships on the road, and my wife is Khloé Kardashian. It’s buggin’. I’m laughing out of embarrassment, he concluded.
