Anika Dambuza, known in the public eye as City Makoti, recently discussed her dental makeover, giving her audience a closer look at the expenses, process, and healing related to her updated smile.
The reality television personality posted a TikTok video where she detailed her recent procedure involving composite veneers, explaining the method and her reasons for choosing this option over others.
Dambuza compared composite veneers to porcelain ones, emphasizing that they are applied directly to the existing teeth rather than requiring them to be reshaped or removed.
“So, they build onto your teeth, whereas you might think of other veneers or crowns where they file away your tooth. My teeth are still here, and I can actually remove it and have my old teeth back. This process is obviously then much more affordable than your crowns, your other veneers, your porcelain veneers,” she explained.
City Makoti stated that her procedure took place at a dental office in Benoni, with a cost of R3,000 for each tooth.
Initially, she intended to address six teeth but decided to include two more for a more complete appearance, totaling R24,000.
Dambuza mentioned that she decided against altering her bottom teeth, expressing satisfaction with their existing appearance.
The entire procedure reportedly lasted about three hours and, in contrast to her past teeth whitening treatment, she found it to be painless.
Discussing her recovery, Dambuza noted that she had to stay careful about her diet and oral hygiene afterwards.
“I mostly ate white things afterwards, and after a few days, I had a little bit of coffee. But I would rinse my mouth, brush my teeth and even with this, the dentist suggested to just have a dry brush, a soft bristle brush after lunch and brushing your teeth morning, evening and flossing, which is something I’ve been doing now,” she shared.
She also revealed that her previous teeth whitening treatment came at R6,500, and she expressed her satisfaction with the outcome of her recent work.
@thecitymakoti I did my teeth at @SMiLeiNNoVA and I couldn’t be happier 🥹 This is something I’ve always wanted to do and I’m so grateful that I could finally do it. I hope I answered all your questions ♥️ Feel free to leave more questions in the comment section #compositebonding #johannesburg ♬ original sound – TheCityMakoti | Anika Dambuza
