The recent episode of Moja Love’s X-Repo, which aired on 19 April, featured Xolani’s intervention to assist Bab’ Mfana Phakathi, who had been caught in a prolonged dispute with his stepdaughter, leading to a resolution.
‘X-REPO’ COMES TO BAB’ PHAKATHI’S RESCUE
During the divorce proceedings with his ex-wife, tragedy struck as she unexpectedly passed away. Though he moved away for work reasons, he decided to leave her the family home since she was without a job.
Bab’ Phakathi faced difficulties in communicating with Thembi, his ex-wife’s daughter, who now occupies her mother’s house.
Seeking help, Bab’ Phakathi aimed to reclaim his belongings, which comprised couches, a fridge, a car, three beds, a washing machine, and a table.
The couple had no children together, and Thembi is from her mother’s earlier relationship.
A COMMOTION ENSUED UPON ARRIVAL
Armed with a court-authorized letter, Bab’ Phakathi, along with Xolani, the host, and the production team, arrived at his ex-wife’s residence, sparking chaos.
Thembi was taken by surprise and lashed out at Bab’ Phakathi, claiming that they had divided their possessions as part of the divorce.
Still, Bab’ Phakathi held firm, insisting he never relinquished claims over his assets over the years.
BAB’ PHAKATHI GETS SOME OF HIS ASSETS
After much back-and-forth, the team successfully retrieved a fridge and some couches, with Xolani suggesting that Bab’ Phakathi consider pawning them to finance new items.
Although Bab’ Phakathi maintained that the car belonged to him, he learned that Thembi had registered it in her name.
Despite only leaving with a few items, Bab’ Phakathi felt grateful for having secured something of value.
“I am happy for the little I got, I am happy even though I don’t have all my belongings, it’s better than nothing,” said Bab’ Phakathi.
“It’s hard when you can’t sustain yourself. I don’t work anymore. I am in the position that I am in. It’s hard when you can’t sustain yourself,” he added.
“After such a long time on this journey, you were hurt, but you fought this. At least we left with something today,” Xolani remarked, who also hosted Sizok’thola on Moja Love.
