Unathi Nkayi has responded to a social media user’s comment following the posting of a video featuring her and her friends which many perceived as disrespectful.
The video, shared by Donald Makhasane, depicted Nkayi enjoying a moment with her close friends.
However, his accompanying text caused a backlash, as he stated: “My boys, I can’t teach you everything. This is the group of grannies you need to date to get ahead in life. I’m not gonna repeat myself.”
In her reply, Nkayi strongly defended herself and her friends against the derogatory remarks.
She stated: “DISRESPECT. You woke up and decided to disrespect my friends. You’re going to regret it @donaldmakhasane.”
Further addressing him, she noted: “Let’s start with you young black man who is willingly going to expose your low self esteem infront of the nation coz you thought it’s cool to call women that you don’t know grannies. Focus on the dignity of your marriage and stop embarrassing your wife on public platforms.”
Unathi elaborated on her critique of his online presence, mentioning: “The copious amounts of selfies you have posted as a MAN speaks volumes about you wanting to be seen. LOW SELF ESTEEM. Your wrist indicates that you need to take better care of yourself so focus on YOUR HEALTH😩🙄🥺.”
She concluded her message by addressing the “grannies” comment directly, remarking: “PS Those of us who do have kids have sent our eldest ones to uni to study, to build their careers and empires. We’ll let you know when we do become grannies. Personally I can’t wait…..BUT in my family education FIRST👅.”
