Softfootball has reported that the first Amputee Football Europa League officially commenced in Ankara, Türkiye, on April 23, 2026, marking an important occasion for inclusive football across Europe.
This significant event follows the recent European maneuvers, including Real Madrid CF’s win in the UEFA Youth League, along with ongoing developments at Chelsea FC as they prepare for their FA Cup semi-final clash against Leeds United.
In a statement shared via their official x handle, UEFA announced that the three-day tournament features six teams from various countries, underscoring the expanding acknowledgment of amputee football on the global platform.

⚽ The inaugural Amputee Football Europa League tournament got underway in Ankara, Türkiye on Thursday. 🤝 Six European teams travelled from across the continent to attend the landmark three-day competition, which is supported by UEFA.
As the tournament progresses after two days of events, it is entering its final phase, with three matches expected to determine the champions. One of the most anticipated games will feature WKS Śląsk Wrocław against Başkent Ampute Futbol Gücü Spor Kulübü in a crucial match.

The Turkish team has shown remarkable performance, finishing the group stage with two victories, netting 24 goals without allowing any. Meanwhile, Olympique de Marseille finished second in their group ahead of FC Crusaders.
