A collaborative effort between the Limpopo SAPS and two private security firms resulted in the arrest of five undocumented Mozambican individuals, aged 29 to 42, on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, in Greenside, Extensions 71 and 78, located just outside Polokwane.
The individuals are linked to a total of 22 motor vehicle theft incidents that occurred from December 2024 to April 2026.
Colonel Malesela Ledwaba, a spokesperson for the provincial police, reported that the operational teams entered the suspects’ residences and seized a Toyota Corolla and a Toyota Tazz, both of which had been reported stolen in Seshego earlier this year.
” Inside the houses, we recovered a stolen generator and assortment of breaking tools,” said Provincial Spokesperson.
The detainees are facing multiple charges, including motor vehicle theft, possession of suspected stolen property, and violations of the Immigration Act.
They are expected to make appearances before the Seshego and Polokwane Magistrate courts on Thursday, April 30, 2026.
