Scorpion Kings Unleashed: DJ Maphorisa & Kabza De Small's Unforgettable Sell-Out Performance
For those hoping to get tickets for the Scorpion Kings Live at FNB Stadium, the opportunity has closed, as tickets have completely sold out.
Kabza and Phori grateful for the overwhelming support
The eagerly awaited event from the amapiano artists has officially seen over 70,000 tickets sold in a week. Following the announcement that tickets would be for sale via WebTickets, more than 500,000 fans waited in line to purchase them. Acknowledging the high demand, the artists made additional seats available and managed to sell out quickly.
Fans are optimistic that this accomplishment positions them to achieve the second-largest music event in FNB Stadium’s history, following performances by Cassper Nyovest and Chris Brown, who also achieved a sellout.
Kabza took to X to express how thankful they are to their fans for making this moment possible:
“DANKIE BAFETHU! We’re humbled. History has been made. We are officially sold out. Should we go for the record as the second biggest concert and apply for an additional 10 000 tickets, or go for a day 2? Suites and hospitality go on sale on 22 May. Kunzima manje.”
Phori also shared a video from WeTickets showing the sold-out status of tickets, hinting at a possible second show:
“We are humbled and thank you so much for your support. History has been made! We are officially sold out! Should we go for the record as the second biggest concert and apply for an additional 10 000 tickets, or go for a day 2? Let us know! Suites and hospitality go on sale on 22 May.”
Mzansi reacts to Scorpion Kings’ popularity
Here are some online reactions:
@by_greatest praised them:
“This is giving Kaizer and Orlando Pirates. Their final home game sells out in just hours. It’s a Betway Premiership match against Durban City FC. Nobody can tell me otherwise, Pirates are the best team in Africa right now! Sundowns and Kaizer Chiefs have never sold out so many matches in one season! Well done, Kings.”
@SUNDAY30A commented:
“Sold out without dropping the lineup. This is the greatest DUO of our parents’ time, DUO of our time, and DUO of all time.”
