Zakes Bantwini launches own foundation
Musician and Grammy Award winner Zakes Bantwini has launched the Zakes Bantwini Foundation.
The musician shared images from the recent launch that took place at the lavish Saxon Hotel, where a range of influential individuals from various fields like politics, entertainment, business, sports, and the arts came together in support of the foundation.
Bantwini stated that the mission of the foundation is to provide access, mentorship, and significant opportunities for the youth and women of South Africa.
“This foundation is deeply personal to me. It represents a long-standing commitment to creating access, mentorship, and real opportunities for the next generation, especially youth and women in South Africa,” he wrote.
The producer acknowledged the attendees of the event, expressing that their presence bolstered the foundation’s mission.
Notable attendees included Panyaza Lesufi, Gayton McKenzie, businessman Sizwe Nxasana, media figure Tbo Touch, music duo Liquideep, and his spouse, Nandi Madida.
Zakes specifically highlighted his appreciation for his close friend Adam, executive assistant Danielle Nagel, and the board members of the foundation for their roles in making the initiative a reality.
“This is only the beginning. The work continues,” Bantwini concluded.
