Ousmane Dembélé has expressed confidence that his transfer from Barcelona to Paris Saint-Germain was a wise choice. This decision has positively impacted his career, culminating in consecutive Champions League victories and the 2025 Ballon d’Or.

SoftFootball reports that Dembélé officially transitioned from Barcelona to PSG on August 12, 2023, concluding a six-year period characterized by inconsistency and unrealized potential. PSG acquired him for £43.5 million, and since the move, the French winger has revitalized his career, exceeding his previous record of 40 goals in 185 appearances and three La Liga titles.
He made the following remark:
“I think I made the right decision to leave FC Barcelona. In my case, I think it was time to leave the club. Although I was very attached to Barça, the club I supported since I was little. But for me it was important to sign for PSG.”

Additionally, he addressed the topic of Kylian Mbappé, asking fans to be less harsh on the French star.
He said:
“There are too many critics towards Kylian. Mbappé is incredible, a top player and a great guy out of the pitch. People should not be so aggressive against him. They criticise Kylian for anything he does. That’s way too much.

Dembélé remarked that Lionel Messi has always been the top player globally, noting that even at 28, Messi displayed exceptional skill and remained a formidable presence on the field.

He also praised Zinedine Zidane, describing him as a legendary figure in football and expressing hope that Zidane will take on the role of head coach for the French national team someday. He reminded fans of Zidane’s impressive achievement of winning three Champions League titles consecutively, asserting that he would be an outstanding manager for France.
