South African rapper Emtee has sparked further conversation after getting candid about his much-discussed split from his wife, Nicole Chinsamy.
On June 26, 2026, he appeared on the All the Smoke podcast, hosted by Tshego and BU Mthembu, where he openly addressed his relationship with the mother of his children.
When asked during the episode if he was “officially divorced,” Emtee delivered surprising news, claiming his ex is intentionally delaying the divorce process.
“She doesn’t wanna sign the papers.”
The couple had spent approximately seven years together, officially marrying in 2019 after more than a decade of being in a relationship.
In the past, Emtee was celebrated for being a committed family man, managing to uphold both a marriage and a nurturing home despite the challenges that come with the music industry. In a landscape where celebrity unions can be fleeting, his and Nicole’s enduring partnership was viewed as an exceptional narrative.

Nevertheless, their marriage deteriorated amid claims of domestic violence, signaling the decline of their relationship.
Recently, after being released on bail for allegedly breaching a protection order issued by Chinsamy in 2023, Emtee expressed that he has moved ahead and found new love.
Briefly News reported earlier that Emtee is now dating another musician, Nandi Ndathane. In the podcast, he disclosed that their romance is still in its early stages, having officially been together for a bit over two weeks, although they had known each other for a longer period.
He asserted that his girlfriend, who proudly displays their relationship on her social media, is the only one he trusts fully, emphasizing a lack of confidence in his legal representation.
