iFani Unveils 8-Track Mixtape “Msebenzi Wam” South African artist iFani is ramping up the excitement with the announcement of his latest mixtape titled Msebenzi Wam, accompanied by artwork that showcases the project’s intense and unyielding theme.

The Xhosa rapper, often called iMfene (Baboon), launched the new project with a compelling message: “BAXELELENI: iMfene ka Mamthembu ize nenye.”
This translates to, “Tell them: Mamthembu’s Baboon has brought another one,” indicating a new phase in his artistic journey.
Msebenzi Wam consists of eight tracks and is set for release later this month. In his announcement, iFani specified that it is aimed at an adult audience, stating: “NO KIDS ALLOWED. Made for 🥷 only.”
The cover artwork is notably striking. iFani is depicted as an enigmatic figure dressed like a ninja, with his face largely obscured by a black cloth and holding a katana over his shoulder. Blue and white Xhosa beads create a contrast against the dark background, emphasizing his cultural roots.
Discussing the meaning behind the visuals, iFani stated: “The eyes are mine but [smoke] anee hearts ezi red 😍 your highness is in high school.”
He continued: “Ndim uMxhosa (blue & white beads), uMfene oliNinja ophuma ebumnyameni.”
The rapper also left some postscripts that hint at the mixtape’s forthright nature:
- PS: 8 songs. It’s a mixtape 📼
- PS2: Kids will listen to 3rd Quadrant but not this one 🥷
- PS3: If you hear your name on any song, talk to your God or spiritual leader, don’t talk to me.
- PS4: The darkness turned me into a monster; only 🥷🥷🥷🥷 will understand.
As the release draws near, excitement is building among iFani’s loyal fanbase, who are embracing what is expected to be another significant chapter in his musical career.
