MALAMULELE, LIMPOPO: A family in Malamulele is enduring a tragic situation following the mysterious disappearance of 14-year-old Masingita Hlungwani, who went missing after a visit to a local salon, prompting a widespread search in the area.
As the start of the third term approaches, Masingita’s classmates are preparing to return to school, facing the grim reality of their friend’s absence. Instead of resuming their regular routines, they are left grappling with uncertainty and worry about her wellbeing.
Authorities from the Malamulele police have launched a missing person investigation and are requesting assistance from the public in locating the teenager.
Reports indicate that Masingita went to a salon on Saturday, 18 July 2026, around 14:00. After her appointment, she left the premises and subsequently vanished without a trace.
Concerns have escalated as her mobile phone remains turned off, heightening anxiety for both her family and police investigators.
When she was last seen, Masingita was dressed in black leggings, a pink t-shirt, a white jersey, and navy blue shoes.
Her family, alongside local police, has actively searched surrounding environments and reached out to friends and acquaintances in the hopes of piecing together her last known whereabouts. Unfortunately, these efforts have yet to yield any significant leads.
