Chelsea is taking a calm approach regarding Josh Acheampong’s future, even as interest from various Premier League teams increases ahead of the transfer deadline.
The promising defender has drawn attention from multiple clubs, with Liverpool and Manchester United among those who have expressed interest recently.
Softfootball indicated in early June that Chelsea declined several inquiries for Acheampong, including two from rivals within the Premier League. The club, supported by head coach Xabi Alonso, emphasized their commitment to the academy graduate as part of their future strategy, with his contract extending to 2029.
While Chelsea’s position does not appear to have shifted, the situation warrants attention. Acheampong is seeking consistent first-team action, and his opportunities may become more challenging if the club signs another centre-back and if Levi Colwill returns to a regular starting position.
Currently, Chelsea feels no urgency to part with Acheampong; however, as interest rises, the defender’s future may become a significant narrative as the transfer window nears its conclusion.
