Softfootball reports that Malo Gusto’s status at Chelsea has not changed, with a possible departure remaining on the table this summer.
Chelsea has set a valuation of £75 million for the French full-back, yet Manchester City is currently unwilling to meet that price, even though the club is interested in acquiring the player.
Manchester City’s interest goes back to June, when it was reported that the Premier League club was contemplating a bid for Gusto. The new manager Enzo Maresca is believed to be eager for a reunion with the defender, having previously collaborated with him.
Nonetheless, the considerable difference between Chelsea’s asking price and the amount Manchester City is willing to spend continues to hinder any possibility of a transfer.
Presently, Gusto is still part of Chelsea, but his future remains a matter of interest as the summer transfer window nears its conclusion.
If discussions move forward, Gusto might become a headline transfer this summer as Manchester City embarks on a new era under Maresca.
