South African DJ and Metro FM presenter Lamiez Holworthy-Morule has spoken out following a daunting medical emergency that led to her urgent hospitalization, where she faced life-threatening circumstances. The radio star’s update prompted a wave of concern and support from her fans nationwide.
Details of the incident involving Lamiez
Social media blog @Am_Blujay provided insights into Holworthy’s experience after she was released from the hospital, noting her significant blood loss during the health crisis. Medical professionals apparently considered a blood transfusion in the course of her treatment. The DJ herself confirmed the alarming nature of the situation in her own words.
Now recuperating at home, Holworthy has reflected on the lessons learned from this ordeal. ‘There is no honour in working yourself to death,’ she remarked, emphasizing the need for herself and others to heed their bodies’ signals before it’s too late. According to X user @Am_Blujay, Holworthy confirmed that she will take a break from both her performance schedule and broadcasting activities to ensure a thorough recovery.
Promoting body positivity amid adversity
In her health update, Holworthy also took the opportunity to address negative social media comments regarding her appearance. She firmly stated that she has chosen to embrace her natural body, including her cellulite and stretch marks, and will not allow external criticisms to affect her self-perception.
Her statement resonated within the entertainment sector, igniting discussions about burnout, the pressure to continue working despite signs of physical distress, and the significance of establishing health boundaries.
