In a video shared by the Team Trump account, Grande’s track We Can’t Be Friends (Wait For Your Love) served as the background sound. The footage featured President Donald Trump, 80, approaching a rally podium while following a viral trend tied to the song’s lyrics “Me and my truth we sit in silence.” The text underneath stated: “Men can’t have babies and should never compete in women’s sports.” The accompanying caption read, “This shouldn’t be controversial! #trump #arianagrande #maga.”
Grande Responds
Upon noticing the post, Grande offered a direct, two-part remark that left no ambiguity about her stance. “Never use my music again. Also, your truth is false,” she commented. This response has since been deleted and is no longer visible within the video.
This incident adds to the growing list of artists expressing discontent regarding the unauthorized use of their music by political entities. Grande, who has previously stepped back from the public eye, has been outspoken about her political beliefs, and her quick retort highlights her unwillingness to allow her work to be linked with the video’s message.
