Softfootball has reported that Manchester United and Brighton have completed all necessary paperwork for the transfer of Carlos Baleba, with the Cameroonian midfielder officially moving to the Red Devils in a deal valued at £65 million plus £5 million in potential add-ons.
This transfer agreement includes a sell-on clause, concluding a long search for the 22-year-old midfielder by United.
Baleba marks Manchester United’s third midfield acquisition of the summer, joining Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans as the club looks to revamp its midfield options.
United had been interested in Baleba for over a year, with Brighton initially requesting more than £100 million for the talented player. Ultimately, the two clubs negotiated a considerably reduced guaranteed fee, with the potential total reaching £70 million.

The club is optimistic that Baleba can play a significant role in their rebuilding efforts, bringing both physical presence and defensive stability to the midfield, while also providing a new dynamic to the squad.
With all documentation completed, Baleba’s transfer to Old Trafford is now nearing its final stages, pending the last formal requirements related to his move.
