Audiomack is enhancing its focus on South Africa, solidifying its role in one of the world’s most dynamic music scenes.
For many years, South Africa has played a crucial role in the global music ecosystem fostered by Audiomack. The country has been a launching pad for various genres, including Amapiano, Maskandi, 3-Step, hip-hop, R&B, and Afropop. Through its initiatives, Audiomack has consistently provided platforms for South African musicians to gain recognition and connect with audiences at both local and global levels.
This dedication is evident in Audiomack’s expanding list of playlists targeting South African music, such as Hometown Heroes: South Africa; Afro House; New Releases: Amapiano; and SA Hip Hop. These collections offer fans a focused avenue to explore well-known artists, rising talents, and the next wave of Mzansi musicians representing the country’s rich musical diversity.
The platform has also prioritized placing South African artists at the forefront of its talent discovery efforts. In 2026, musicians like Sjava, Mawelele, Naledi Aphiwe, Lordkez, DJ Lag, Babalwa M, and Jazzwrld have benefited from editorial backing and visibility across Audiomack’s playlists and artist discovery programs.
Sjava gained significant attention for his latest album, Inkanyezi NeZinkanyezi, while Mawelele, Naledi Aphiwe, and Lordkez were highlighted as part of the Audiomack African Artists to Watch 2026 list, underscoring the platform’s mission to identify and uplift artists who are shaping African music’s future.
Additonally, in late 2025, Audiomack initiated a focused campaign on Zulu music, showcasing the broad spectrum and variety of Zulu sounds through genres like Maskandi, Gqom, Afropop, and Hip-Hop.
A key component of this campaign was a series of playlists that provided distinct spaces for various aspects of Zulu music. These featured iSginci for Maskandi; iGqom for Gqom; and iSizwe SakwaZulu, which gathered a wider array of Zulu music across multiple genres.
The initiative included artists such as Zee Nxumalo, Khuzani, Aubrey Qwana, and Umlabalaba, allowing audiences to discover both established figures and those pushing the boundaries of Zulu music.
Beyond curated playlists and promotional campaigns, Audiomack continues to engage with South African artists and the cultures surrounding them by supporting local events like DBN Gogo 24hrs Set, collaborating with Elaine on Soft Girl Sundae, and enabling local musicians to reach new audiences via the platform.
“South Africa has always been one of the most exciting music markets in the world,” said Charlotte Bwana, Vice President Marketing, Audiomack. “We have seen incredible artists use Audiomack to build audiences, reach new listeners and share their music with the world. Our commitment is about continuing to invest in that ecosystem and making sure that the artists shaping the next generation of South African music have a platform that sees them, supports them and helps them get discovered.”
This commitment is further realized through Umculo Ohamba Nawe (Music That Moves With You), a new campaign developed in collaboration with Sebenza Wi-Fi.
Instead of merely promoting Audiomack to South Africans, the campaign highlights the daily experiences where music is integral—ranging from commutes and taxi journeys to discovering new artists, sharing music with friends, and creating playlists suited to various moods.
As Audiomack advances its presence in South Africa, it aims to enhance efforts with artists, fans, and cultural organizations through more local storytelling, music discovery efforts, and partnerships aimed at uplifting those who are influencing the country’s sound.
“South African music has never stayed in one place,” added Bwana. “It moves from city to city, from artist to fan, from the studio to the taxi, and from South Africa to the rest of the world. Audiomack is there for that journey.”
Music enthusiasts can download Audiomack from their mobile app stores to explore the newest South African music, playlists, and artists featured on the platform.
