“It’s been wild. It’s been a crazy journey, bro. I’ve been finding myself in every chapter of that entire thing,” Jay Jody remarked.
He reflected on his early days with Westview, recalling his time alongside A-Reece and TK. Initially a small group of creators, they eventually grew into a larger entity, paving the way for Benchmark and expanding his career opportunities.
Currently, Jay Jody has established himself as a solo artist while still collaborating with others and extending his influence beyond South Africa. He indicated that this phase of his career focuses on partnerships and international travel, which he sees as integral to his artistic journey.
“From Westview, making music, and we were the original Wrecking Crew, which was just me, Reece, and TK. And then it added up, and then it became what it became, Benchmark, and then my solo thing, and then now I’m doing a couple of collabs with people, I’m travelling the world,” he explained.
