Brighton and Hove Albion head coach Fabian Hürzeler has announced that Zadok Yohanna will be absent from the Nigerian Super Eagles squad for the 2027 AFCON qualifiers, marking yet another significant obstacle for Nigeria as they prepare.
The 19-year-old player, who transferred to Brighton in June 2026 from AIK Stockholm on a contract lasting until June 2031, is projected to be unavailable until after the upcoming September international break.
Hürzeler commented:
He won’t be available before the international break. We have to be patient with him and make sure he returns fully fit.
Yohanna is the latest addition to the list of injured Super Eagles players set to miss the qualifiers, which also includes Paul Onuachu, Tochukwu Nnadi, and Victor Osimhen. All are expected to be sidelined at the start of the qualifying campaign.
