Renowned South African Singer Mawhoo is preparing to debut her unique Secret Garden experience in Durban.
Set for Saturday, 28 November 2026, the eagerly awaited event offers an all-day festivity that artfully combines music, culture, fashion, gastronomy, and top-tier live performances.
The forthcoming Durban installment was recently introduced at an exclusive media gathering held at Maison in Durban.
This preview event united key figures from the media along with artists and Mawhoo’s close acquaintances and family.
The evening was hosted by Zisto from East Coast Radio, providing attendees with an initial look at the creative and atmospheric vision for the November event.
Among the notable attendees were Mawhoo’s mother, Nkosana Daughter, Orchid Musiq, and the owner of Maison, Benny Maverick.
Central to the “Secret Garden” idea is Mawhoo’s passion for creating a closer, more personal connection between the performer and her audience.
As technology reshapes the music landscape, Mawhoo aims to emphasize a raw, personal touch during her showcase in Durban.
“Even though AI exists and technology is changing the way we experience music, I still want my community to hear my voice and experience me authentically,” Mawhoo shared during the media evening.
“I want to be close to my people, perform with a live band, and give them an experience where they can feel the music and connect with me.”
Departing from the usual stage-centric concert structure, Secret Garden is conceived as a holistic lifestyle event.
The day will evolve from lively daylight activities into a more relaxed sunset ambiance, leading up to late-night enjoyment. Mawhoo will take the stage as the main act along with a thoughtfully curated mix of both local and national performers.
Guests can expect a luxurious day featuring gourmet cuisine, upscale beverages, VIP lounges, engaging brand interactions, and fashion exhibitions.
The garden backdrop will provide a picturesque setting for curated photo opportunities, fostering a space that merges contemporary African culture with dynamic artistic expression.
