Y (previously known as YFM), a key player in Johannesburg’s youth culture, is set to bring back LYFE this summer with a bold showcase of music, culture, and the sounds that define South Africa today.
Scheduled for Saturday, 31st October 2026, the event will return to Marks Park in Emmarentia. LYFE 2026 promises an impressive lineup, placing South African talent in the spotlight and uniting some of the nation’s most captivating artists for a full day of music, vibrancy, and memorable experiences.
The lineup features a diverse array of artists from South Africa and beyond, including notable SA performers like Shekhinah, Thando Zide, Lusanda, Umzulu Phaqa, as well as UK-born singer-songwriter AMA.
AMA (formerly known as AMA LOU) is a London-raised musician who has successfully created a unique niche in contemporary R&B, merging soulful elements with influences from neo-soul, garage, and drill. Her versatile sound, compelling artistry, and international fan base enhance the already vibrant lineup, showcasing the richness of South Africa’s music scene and its expanding global ties.
Enhancing the lifestyle aspect of the event, Y’s own LesediTheDJ, Venom, Rarri, Fae-Fae, and Fif_Laaa will contribute to the curated alternative sounds throughout the day.
The LYFE experience will be anchored by Y’s Ayanda MVP, Nia Brown, Hey Shawty, Karen Mthethwa, and Tulz Madala. These hosts will bring the energetic personality and connection that the audience has come to appreciate.
“LYFE is an extension of Y’s ongoing commitment to showcasing South African and international musicians while creating an unforgettable experience that leaves audiences wanting more. This year, attendees can expect to embark on a musical journey that moves between the familiar, the unexpected and the new, featuring genre-bending sounds across R&B, neo-soul, contemporary jazz and other alternative genres. Carefully curated for lovers of alternative music, LYFE brings like-minded audiences together to discover, connect and celebrate the sounds shaping the culture” stated Y’s Music Curator, Codi Dinca.
This year, Y has introduced a new early-arrival ticket option on Webtickets to reward attendees. This ticket, offered at a reduced price, requires attendees to arrive by 1 p.m. Those arriving after that time will need to pay an additional fee at the entrance.
Other ticketing options will also be available.
