A decade after Nasty C made his debut with Bad Hair on Audiomack, the prominent South African hip-hop artist is marking the occasion by releasing an unheard track from that era.
Nasty C has unveiled A Star Is Born, featuring the legendary South African rapper Riky Rick and American actor and poet Omari Hardwick, available exclusively on Audiomack. This collaboration showcases distinct voices and offers long-time supporters a chance to revisit a significant moment in Nasty C’s initial career phase.
This track was meant to be included in Bad Hair but was excluded from the official release due to issues with sample clearance. Now, ten years on, it has finally surfaced on the same platform that played a crucial role in the success of Nasty C’s first project.
The release is part of Audiomack’s celebration of ten years since the launch of Bad Hair, which played a vital role in establishing Nasty C’s wide appeal and serving as a foundation for his ongoing career.
In addition to the new track, Audiomack has introduced a dedicated Nasty C Hub, providing a centralized location for his musical works and career narrative. Fans can explore Bad Hair as well as other materials while new audiences can discover music that influenced his formative years.
Charlotte Bwana, Vice President of Marketing at Audiomack, spoke about the significance of this anniversary, acknowledging the platform’s connection to the project and viewing the return of A Star Is Born as a chance to revisit a key segment of Nasty C’s history.
For Nasty C, this release allows his audience to hear a song he had long desired to share. “Ten years ago, I decided to leak my album on Audiomack because I couldn’t clear one specific song that was dear to my heart,” he stated. “A decade later, I’ve decided to finally put this song out so my fans can enjoy what I couldn’t release back then.”
He expressed gratitude to his listeners for their continued support over the years, saying, “To my day ones, thank you for riding with me for all these years.”
The Nasty C Hub and the exclusive release of A Star Is Born became available on Audiomack starting 23 September 2026, providing fans with the opportunity to revisit the roots of his journey while enjoying a track that has been unreleased for a decade.
