Loatinover Pounds embarks on a new phase with Ground 2 Glory, an album that delves into his past experiences, highlighting the journey he has undertaken and the person he is evolving into.
In contrast to his previous work, Pray 4 Pitori, which captures the essence and culture of Pretoria, Ground 2 Glory adopts a more introspective approach. This latest project sees Loatinover Pounds examining the challenges, achievements, and setbacks that have accompanied his ascent, touching on themes of love, spirituality, family, friendships, personal struggles, and the reality of chasing success.
The album presents a sincere account of personal growth. Throughout the tracks, Pounds acknowledges the interplay between his accomplishments and the sacrifices made to attain them. He chronicles the moments that have tested his resolve, the bonds that have influenced him, and the driving purpose that continues to inspire him.
With contributions from artists like Focalistic, A-Reece, Mochen, Mo Sufi, Khalee G, THE NORTH MOB, and Saint Cielo, Ground 2 Glory broadens the scope of Pounds’ narrative while maintaining a strong connection to his Pretoria roots. Each collaboration weaves into a larger tapestry that revolves around ambition, community, and the evolution that occurs while staying true to one’s origins.
The opening track and featured single “My Life” serves as an emotional entry point into the album. Honest and self-reflective, the song showcases Pounds reflecting on his journey from modest roots in Pretoria to the highs and lows that have accompanied his pursuit of aspirations.
Instead of viewing success as an endpoint, “My Life” prompts him to think about the future. This contemplation lays the groundwork for Ground 2 Glory: an album that is as much about the distance traveled as it is about the lessons learned along the way.
While Pitori remains significant, the perspective has evolved. In Ground 2 Glory, Loatinover Pounds illustrates the transition from chasing dreams to realizing them, alongside the resilience needed to manage all that comes with that achievement.
