DJ Clen Responds to Allegations That K-Rev Lacked a Rollout for His New Project “Are We There Yet?”These remarks followed the release of K-Rev’s nine-track project Are We There Yet?, which DJ Clen executive produced. In response to the discussion online, Clen shared insights on X, emphasizing the earlier efforts K-Rev made prior to the project being available on streaming services.
“Saying Rev never had a rollout is crazy,” Clen stated. “This kid been dropping freestyle week in and week out on his IG. The ones who followed him know. He even dropped studio shoot for no bangers. Let the kid enjoy his come up. Hip Hop la lapisha aowa banna.”
Clen has played a significant role in K-Rev’s development, previously referring to Are We There Yet? as one of his “proudest productions.” He has also praised K-Rev for his character, describing him as “a respectful kid” with a positive upbringing.
K-Rev’s strategy for creating buzz has prominently featured his social media presence. Frequent freestyle performances on Instagram allowed followers to witness his growth, while studio footage and other visual elements provided insights into his creative process.
This ongoing engagement has culminated in the release of Are We There Yet?, representing a crucial advancement in K-Rev’s collaborative journey with Clen and the Revenge Club Records team.
The new project follows their 2025 mixtape The Only Way Up, which included collaborations with artists like Blxckie, 25K, and Blaklez. Their partnership has broadened K-Rev’s exposure in the hip-hop community.
K-Rev, born Samukelo Qhena in Daveyton and currently based in Soweto, has built a presence through multiple features on Clen’s earlier works, becoming a standout voice on Too Viral.
For Clen, the discussion surrounding the rollout of the project hinges on what is seen as effective promotion in today’s hip-hop environment. While conventional methods typically include structured announcements and media efforts, K-Rev’s buildup has emphasized a steady release of music and direct audience interaction.
